Where Is Cryptic Characters located? Where can I park?
We are located at 7201 104 St NW in Edmonton. Our entrance is at the front of the building, facing Calgary Trail. There is a customer parking lot along the south side of our building, as well as street parking on Calgary Trail and on the side streets.
Can I add a player to our booking?
Yes, of course the more the merrier! We can add any extra players on to your booking when you arrive. Please arrive an extra few minutes early so we have time to adjust the booking and process an extra transaction(s). However, we do not recommend exceeding room maximums. If that may be the case, feel free to contact us to see if there is a larger room available, or if your group could be split between multiple rooms.
What is your cancellation Policy?
Reservations can be canceled up to 24 hours before your start time for a full refund.
Reservations canceled within 24 hours can be refunded, minus the minimum deposit, or rescheduled.
Reservations canceled within an hour of the start time are considered a no-show and your payment will be forfeited.
What are your hours?
We currently operate on a “by booking” basis. if you book in advance we will be here to run your booking.
There are timeslots for our rooms available between the following hours… However this does not guarantee we will be here and open during these times.
- 1:30pm – 9:30pm on Monday – Thursday
- 1:30pm – 11pm on Friday
- 12pm – 11pm on Saturday
- 12pm – 9:30pm on Sunday
Our staff need some notice in order to be at the building in time, so our booking portal automatically cuts off online bookings at a set time prior to each timeslot. Within that window you can call to see if the slot you want is available.
Contact us if you wish to book a time outside of the times available online. If we have staff available during your desired time, we would be happy to accommodate your request
Can kids play?
Yes…and no*. Our policy is to allow up to 3 children per 1 Adult. Keep in mind that our puzzles are designed for adults and therefore may be difficult for children, more adults is always recommended. Contact us to book for a group with more than 3 children.
*One of our rooms, Containment Breach Z, contains horror elements including realistic graphic content and we currently do not allow children 12 and under to play it.
Do we have to pay in advance?
When you book we require a minimum deposit of $36.75, this is the equivalent of one general admission player. This deposit guarantees your booking time. Please note that It is often more convenient for all parties if the booking is fully paid in advance.
If you plan to have the rest of your group pay on arrival please ensure everyone arrives at least 15 minutes before your start time. This is so we are able to process the additional payment(s), in addition to our typical check-in routine, and still get you started on time.
Will the host be in character? And are the rooms scary?
Absolutely! All our rooms have a kooky character ready to immerse you in their worlds. Each of our actors have their own unique portrayal of these characters.
All of our rooms are safe, but some do have scary themes. Check room descriptions to pick the best one for you. Also be aware that the ambiance of in our rooms may have audio and visual design elements including: flickering lights, a soundscape, sudden sound effects.
Do you sell gift certificates? How do they work?
Yes, we sell gift certificates for anywhere from 1 to 16 plays. They can be purchased online here or in person at the front desk. Gift certificates can be emailed directly to the recipient or printed out for a physical gift.
When booking online, you can redeem your gift certificate by entering the code at the payment step. Gift certificates can be used multiple times until their full value has been used.
